Helping high performing women stop binging

& start feeling in control of their food choices.

Do you feel out of control around food?

Have you ever felt like your life is being suddenly hijacked by cravings you can't ignore or say no to?

Have you ever wondered "If am such a smart, successful, capable woman, why can't I stop binging?"

My clients tell me things like:

"I feel like food has this power over me and I don't like that!"

"I feel raw, vulnerable and afraid wit
hout having food to rely on."

"I'm afraid I'll turn to something worse if I give this up."

"I want to be present with my family and my clients but this sugar addiction makes it impossible to just be content wh
ere I am."

"Food occupies so much of my brain space that I could be using for other, more important things. I think about it all the time. It makes it difficult for me to stay focused."

"I'm so ready to step out of the darkness of this binge eating but I don't know how, or even why I do it."

"I want to be mentally stronger than my cravings and I'm not."

"I want to learn to love and comfort myself without
using food."

"I want to feel confident again. To feel good in my clothes and to actually want to have sex with my partner

"I want to be more creative, to access my intuition and my best ideas. I know this is
blocking me from that."

"What is wrong with you?"

"Why can't you figure this out?"

"You are so fucked up. This is not normal!"

"I'm always going to struggle with food."

"This is an impossible battle."

Those of us that know binge eating know what it means to feel defeated and ashamed

We are constantly criticizing and judging ourselves.

Does this voice sound familiar?

If you are someone that knows what this feels like, I want you to know that you are not alone and you are not doing it wrong!

You are not bad or broken, and you are most certainly not beyond help.

I have been there. It took me decades to find an answer that explains why we can do all the “right” things and yet none of it seems to actually work.

If anything it just felt like a really expensive bandaid, or something akin to putting aloe vera on a 3rd degree burn. It sometimes helped temporarily, but it never lasted.

Everything people teach for how to stop binging sounds so good. It all makes logical sense, but when you try it and do all the things it just feels like trimming dead leaves from a wilting plant that has a diseased root.

Something is missing. Or so it seemed.

"These things should be working!" I used to say constantly.

But they weren't. Not the way I wanted them to anyway.

- mediation, check.
- therapy, check.
- nutrition overall, check.
- mindset work, check.
- emotional processing, check.

- tapping, check.
- breath work, check.
- podcast library, check.
- self help Phd

- sound baths, forest bathing, crystal healing...

The list could go on and on but none of these approaches, sensible or woo, seemed to be able to actually help me stop binge eating in a truly lasting way.

And that sucks. When that happens, it leaves us feeling more defeated and hopeless than before we tried all the Oprah approved fixes that were supposed to help with this extremely painful pattern.

But I would like to change that for you if you would be willing to muster up the courage to trust again, one more time, and give something new a chance.

I promise not to let you down!

The problem most people have when they are trying to quit binge eating is they don't actually know why they are binging to begin with.

They have a lot of guesses, but every approach I have ever seen is missing this one
essential key element.

I often hear things like:

"I think it's just become such a habit. There's not even a pause button anymore and I just end up doing it again."

"I think it's because I'm just so exhausted by the end of my day. I don't have it in me to be disciplined anymore."

"I'm so busy and I'm constantly juggling 12 things at once. The stress of it all is just too much."

They may say it is because of their anxiety, or because of past traumas that "permanently destroyed my nervous system."

Sometimes they tell me it is because of the lack of support in their life, and that they often feel lonely or depressed and find themselves "eating their feelings."

"Food is everywhere. Every family event. Every birthday party. It's just such a huge party of our culture to eat."

"My kids won't eat that healthy food, so there is always carbs and junk food around. It's impossible for me not to give into wanting that stuff when it's right there."

"My mom lives with me and food is her love language. She loves to bake for me and I don't want to hurt her feelings by not eating it."

These are common answers I hear from clients when I ask them why they think they can't stop binging.

It almost always has something to do with the stres
sors of time or money, cultural, environmental or emotional circumstances or something in their life or past which they feel they can not easily control.

It makes sense that our brains want to look for something outside of ourselves to blame.

If those things are not the reason, the only thing left is that deep and relentless feeling of shame that maybe it is because "I am broken" and profoundly inadequate.

And that possibility is far too painful. In fact, shame is one of the primary emotions my clients binge to avoid feeling.

(typical approach and Why It doesn't work).

I struggled with this for years. I used to think... I tried everything... Nothing ever lasted. I felt more frustrated and defeated every time.

But then I discovered WHY nothing was working. I realized that I wasn't actually wrong, broken, bad or fucked up. Not only was this pattern not my fault, but it was the reason that I was so successful.

I realized why I hadn't been able to let it go before and once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. This discovery finally gave me the roadmap for how to begin healing this pattern instead of trying to break it and it set me on a path of radical self love and true freedom from the tyranny of food addiction and uncontrollable cravings.
